"One Street Over is a mind bending blend of various genres, including funk, jungle, Middle Eastern, and others. And, while the pair borrows liberally from various traditions, they interweave the pieces with a style all their own. The standout cuts are "New Moon Mamba," which comes off like El Chicano on ecstasy, "Sons of Batra" which is reminiscent of Bill Laswell's (semi) recent work with Material, and the dub-flavored piece "The Process of Elevation," which breaks into a wicked drum and bass groove.
